Free Cities: Origins (version 0.2.2) by Mimus Studios drops you into a dystopian world years after modern civilization collapsed, where you begin as a slave owned by Shintani Hiroyuki—a man fixated on his Japanese heritage and obsessed with rebuilding society from the myths of old. Built in HTML with React and inspired by FCAuthor’s Free Cities, this RPG twist on the management formula puts you at the center of a power struggle between settlements and the last centralized authority, the Trade Union.

Your choices matter. Align with a faction and watch the entire game world reshape around you, while a dynamic economy driven by supply and demand and simulated Brownian motion keeps every settlement shifting in ways you won’t even see until your status grants access to the intel. Deep character creation lets you shape your protagonist from the ground up, and as you claw your way from slavery toward influence, themes of corruption and female domination weave through the narrative.

The final phase, still in development, challenges you to build a settlement from nothing—the first Free City—with complex diplomacy, economic actions against rival settlements, and intricate interactions with your vassals and subjects.
