Ash And Velvet is a fully voiced adult dark fantasy visual novel following the slow, deliberate downfall of Serith, a proud dark elf dispatched by her house to drive a wedge between humans and dwarves. She enters the human court disciplined, aloof, and convinced of her superiority, only to discover that political maneuvering is far from its only weapon. The people around her study her pride, measure her vulnerability, and attach a price to every favor. As each concession erodes her dignity and establishes what she might accept next, Serith insists she remains in control—even as the court steadily tightens its hold. Chapter 1, The Guest, follows Serith’s arrival on the surface and her introduction to human power, turning her diplomatic assignment into a struggle over reputation, pride, and personal control. In Chapter 2, Paid in Kind, she is sent north, beyond the court’s polished manners and into a harsher environment. An old border post gives her a meaningful source of leverage, but her growing usefulness brings escalating demands from the men around her. Unwanted contact, humiliation, and coercive bargaining make the threat to her autonomy increasingly physical. Chapter 3, The Claim, brings the dwarves’ response to Lord Avel’s table and gives Serith three ways to influence him: through the lord himself, the prisoner Brennar, or Master Halwen’s rooms. Each route carries a different cost, and the game remembers which approach she chooses. By the chapter’s conclusion, Lord Avel’s intentions are no longer merely implied. Featuring voiced and animated scenes, this chapter contains the game’s most explicit material so far. Fully voiced dialogue, animated inserts, and choices that shape Serith’s tone support a darkening, slow-burn corruption arc built around political manipulation and pressure on her reputation. Chapter 4 is currently in development and will take the story further into the court, with consequences extending beyond Serith’s body. It is planned to reach early access supporters first, followed by release here.
