In The Wish, a wish made beside a magical crystal causes every other male on an island to disappear, leaving the protagonist as the only one remaining. What happens next is up to you: use the magical resources found in a cave to restore the crystal and bring the missing men back, or exploit those same resources to corrupt the island’s women. Preparing in town and spending resources on useful benefits can help you pursue your chosen path. Progression takes time, with adult content unlocked through gameplay rather than presented within the first few minutes. The Wish is designed around developing your character and earning access to more content, making it a different experience from a visual novel focused on quickly delivering scenes. Increasing your character’s skill points provides a range of bonuses, with each skill offering a different advantage. These include multipliers for end-of-battle rewards, additional stats, crafting bonuses, and reduced “droplets of magic” costs for manufacturing. Only the first two monsters award one droplet each; later monsters yield more, with the last currently available monster awarding 50 droplets before the ×5 bonus is applied.
