Description

In A Thoughtless Embrace, Samuel, Ann, and Oliver once shared an inseparable friendship despite their contrasting personalities. Samuel was the nerdy one, Ann the studious one, and Oliver the flippant one, yet their bond carried them through high school. After graduation, Samuel and Ann began dating, while Oliver mysteriously disappeared from their lives. Five years later, the couple are working adults, living together and enjoying a comfortable relationship built slowly over time. One evening, Ann accompanies Samuel to the station before he leaves on a two-night trip to visit his parents. Facing her first time alone in their apartment, she finds herself questioning whether their comfortable life together has begun to stagnate. On her way home, an unexpected encounter interrupts those worries: Oliver has returned to their hometown after five years away. As the old friends catch up and exchange stories about their lives, their familiar banter carries a tension neither can quite shake. While Samuel rides the train, thinking fondly of his girlfriend, the reunion back at the apartment takes an increasingly intimate turn. What begins as a conversation between friends gradually crosses into something more, raising questions about Ann’s willingness to let it happen—and her insistence on acting as though nothing indecent is taking place. Why has Oliver returned now, and what is drawing them together after so long? It all starts with an innocent, thoughtless embrace.
