Description

A thousand years ago, the Sakagami family saved Hinomoto by defeating the leader of the oni. Now, their descendant Sakagami Mai leads a quiet life in a secluded region deep within the mountains. In Divine Sakura Princess, The Proud Shrine Maiden’s Fall, that peace gives way to a summons from the shogun of Isetsu, the most prosperous nation in Hinomoto: Mai must slay a monster that has been ravaging the capital. Accompanied by her childhood friend Shigure, Mai carries out the shogun’s command and successfully defeats the threat. With their mission complete, the pair enjoy a brief respite—until dark clouds gather across the sky, heralding the return of an enemy thought vanquished long ago. Daigoku Dōji, the oni leader defeated by Mai’s ancestors, has risen again. As countless oni flood the town and attack its people, Mai rushes to the castle to confront him. The ancient threat that once endangered Hinomoto has returned, leaving a descendant of its former saviors to face it once more.
