In Swing The Spoon, you play a young man whose career as a chef has come to an abrupt end, leaving him unemployed and uncertain about his future. An unexpected windfall gives him the chance to start over, and he impulsively decides to open a small restaurant of his own. He rents an older, closed-down restaurant and its adjoining apartment building from Patricia, a landlady who once ran a restaurant with her daughter, Liz. Sensing an opportunity, the pair offer to work for him, and he gladly accepts. But getting the business off the ground is only half the challenge: the three of you also have to navigate life together outside opening hours, with Liz’s prickly attitude and determination to dodge work clashing with everyday responsibilities, while Patricia dreams of having a little garden of her own. Keeping your new venture afloat means covering wages and rent every week. You’ll need to keep employees happy, purchase the right ingredients, maintain cleanliness—or supervise someone else doing the cleaning—and steadily expand your kitchen equipment and restaurant. Between shifts, there’s time to get closer to your roommates, explore the house and its many rooms, and discover the surrounding neighborhood. Visit the gym, unlock creepy basement rooms, or stop by the bank to flirt with the cute teller next door. As new roommates move in, shared living brings more opportunities for flirting, massages, spying, and other intimate encounters. Relationships are a central part of Swing The Spoon, with a deliberately small cast whose personalities matter as much as their appeal. Rather than rushing through a large roster of interchangeable women, you’ll get to know individual traits, preferences, problems, and difficulties. Building these connections takes patience and persistence, with relationship progress and scenes unfolding as you invest time in understanding each character. Curiosity and ingenuity also have their rewards. Numerous scenes and situations depend on careful exploration, diligence, or drawing the right logical conclusions, giving attentive players more to uncover throughout the game. These discoveries remain optional, however: you can complete the game without seeing every hidden encounter, and spying on the neighbors is never a requirement.
