Description

Lotus In The Mire explores what happens when a private fascination becomes a consuming pursuit. Developed by MoRuInk, this adult visual novel follows Fei and his girlfriend, Shaoxia, through a relationship increasingly shaped by hidden desires, deliberate setups, and consequences Fei cannot always control. Version 0.2.0 introduces a story where the tension comes from how far he will go to recreate a feeling he first discovered by chance.

Adapted from a web novel serialized on Chinese forums in the late 1990s, the narrative traces Fei’s shift from curious observer to active instigator. After years of chasing that initial experience, he begins arranging circumstances rather than leaving them to coincidence. Shaoxia remains central to this unfolding relationship drama, as Fei’s attempts to guide events reveal the gap between imagining a scenario and controlling its outcome.

With its visual novel format, 2D CG presentation, and AI CG elements, Lotus In The Mire puts its characters’ evolving involvement at the center of the experience. Themes of cheating, corruption, exhibitionism, and humiliation frame a story about escalating expectations and increasingly complicated boundaries. Its distinctive premise lies in Fei’s changing role: sometimes watching, sometimes intervening, and gradually becoming more entangled in the situations he creates.
